Day 68

Today, I am going to share Thomas' on demand smile. Some people are able to smile for pictures and it looks natural and pretty. I have three kids that can do this and three that can't. They all have lovely smiles when they are truly smiling but the on demand smiles not so much.

Timothy, Amanda and Johnathon are great on demand smilers and Thomas, Aaron and Lainie, well...not so much. 

We just had Thomas' senior pictures done and he requested that we have them redone, which we are. The yearbook picture we can't because there isn't enough time but the others we are. Out of 100 pictures there are about 5 that he doesn't have the "Chandler" smile. We get this saying from the sitcom "Friends" because Chandler could not smile on demand either.

Miss Lainie at her Montessori School last Christmas. She is so fun to watch because she truly loves to sing and dance. As you can see she is definitely getting into it.

She claims to be shy...I sometimes wonder.

Day 65

When we lived in Ohio I was in awe over the shear number of trees. It was so pretty driving, especially in the fall. We lived in a small town, Granville, just outside of Columbus. A lovely, quiet town. Everyone was so nice and we could walk everywhere. It was just like the little small towns you see in movies. The kids have many fond memories even though, we only lived there a year. It was a good year.

We had many trees in our backyard and the kids enjoyed climbing them... mom not so much. This was more of a dad activity. I was so afraid they would fall and get hurt. I would find a few inside things to do. They had fun and they all survived without one broken bone, well not from tree climbing anyway.

Day 64

This is Ella Marie our sweet grand-daughter who is now almost 3 years old. This was the first time I ever gave her a bath. She has and has always had so much hair. She had so much hair that when Kathy had her ultra sounds done you could actually see her hair. 


Ella had mixed feelings about Nana giving her a bath. She fussed a bit, was intrigued a bit, and happy, making faces. She is so sweet. I love her to pieces.

This is Billie-Jo, my friend that gave me the precious giraffe. I have know her since the day she was born. Her parents and my parents were best friends for years, so we grew up together. We lost contact for years and several years ago we picked right back up where we left off. It is really special when you have friends that are like family and time doesn't matter. It's what stays in the heart. She is a sweetheart! I am so glad we got to see each other while we were in Florida.

Day 60

A little something about me today. I don't know why but I have always been fascinated by giraffes. They are such a beautiful animal. Each one is like a piece of artwork. I can look at them forever because each pattern is gorgeous.

Whenever we go to a zoo that is my must see animal. When were in Colorado Springs, Lainie was just a baby, we went to the zoo. It was the coolest experience for me because you can see the giraffes up close and feed them. I was in awe...I felt just like a kid.

When Amanda was a little younger she asked me, if I could have any animal in miniature form for a house pet what would I choose. Definitely, a giraffe.

When we went to Florida this past summer my childhood friend, Billie-Jo, that I met up with asked me before our trip what my favorite animal was and I told her a giraffe. When I saw her she gave me a beautiful giraffe. She said it was really hard to find.

I have one special giraffe that I proudly display.

Day 59

Baking together.

Lainie and I don't make lemon cookies but we do enjoy baking together. Lainie really has a lot fun. She wants to do everything. The entire time we are baking together "mommy can I do it?" "mommy can I put it in?" "mommy can I hold it?" She is so cute and very independent. 

I am looking forward to having her join me this year with some of my Christmas baking. Nanny, my mom and I would bake Christmas cookies together. It was a lot of fun. Christmas music on and a lot of giggles. The past few years it was just me, John and my mom.

Bubble fun.

Lainie and Aaron are both very strong willed and often fight because of this. It is always nice to see them playing together and having fun. It was a brisk cold day. Notice in the first picture no jacket. Then they decided to get smart and keep warm.
