We have been very busy and have had a bunch of crazy weather!
After weeks of trying to figure out what to do with our vacation plans and the Egypt crisis we finally finalized things. The cruise line has changed the itinerary from Egypt to Istanbul, Turkey so I think we are safe to continue with our cruise plans. We are going to visit the family in Italy and end our trip with the cruise. We contemplated going to France and England and doing some land tours. We also contemplated doing some additional land tours in Italy but it seems it will be easier if we do the cruise, so we just pack and unpack once and do not have to worry about all the trains, flights and luggage. We are still planning on a day tour in Rome with G and G.
Amanda had her diabetes appointment which went quite well and for the past 7 months her A1C has been in the low 6 range. YAY! The doctor said she can't expect to get much better than that without having too many lows. We are happy!
The weather has been crazy in Texas! The schools have had 6 bad weather days and are now in the process of applying for a weather waiver so they don't have to make up the days in the summer. I think it will probably be granted but we have been assured even if it is denied that it will not affect graduation. Johnathon was happy about this news!
We really enjoyed watching the Superbowl and thought it was a great game! Go Packers! Too bad a lot of the traveling fans didn't have a good experience. With the weather and seating issues there were quite a few unhappy people. Let the law suits begin!
Johnathon had his National Cooking Contest and his group placed 4th! Thomas' swim team came in 1st within the district! We are very proud of both boys!
We attended Lainie's Valentine's Day Party at her Montessori school. It was fun being able to spend some time with her at school. She interacts well with all of the other students and she really enjoys all the school activities.

ReplyDeleteWise choice on the trip I think. Dragging several children and associated luggage sounded like a bit of a marathon effort and really the main idea is to relax! London and Paris will still be there another day. :-)
